An extended family shoot – Tower Bridge and The Southbank – London
I think it is no secret that I love London – not just a little bit – but a proper love – a place that I can’t wait to get to and really enjoy shooting in. I have, over the years, taken so many images of my own family in London, such as trips to musical instrument shops where the camera got thrown in the bag to document the day. It’s just the streets, the crossings, every funky back drop that just comes at you out of nowhere. Oh, and that sky line! That wonderful, unique sky line of ours and all its ever changing landmarks.
I’ve known these guys quite a while, they are good friends of ours. Dad (who sadly was sick on the day and actually missed the shoot) was best man at our wedding and is Godfather to our boys. Lifelong friends that have grown up with my husband and people we spend a lot of time with, including – and I know how excited all of us are about this one 😉 – the annual camping trip for 52, to a field somewhere in Surrey, or is it Sussex? Anyway, it’s a field, with no electric, a ton of sports gear, lots of clothes to get muddy, a total lack of iPhones and oh, and if I haven’t already mentioned it, maybe a few beers! And a great big – so big you can’t miss it – camp fire! (can’t wait!!).
I photograph friends often, of course, because luckily for me, when they want to have their family photographs done they will come to me, and I was so excited to photograph this bunch. Vouchers had been bought for Nanny and Grandad for Christmas and a date and venue set.
London – I’m going to let these pictures speak for themselves, but sometimes I have to pinch myself. Pinch myself because we are so very lucky to have this on our doorstep.
I love photographing here (did I mention this?!!) so if you like me, love this town, and want your family memories captured while you go for a family stroll, stop for coffee, ice cream, or play in the park, run along the bridges, etc just get in touch Nina@3boysandmephotography.co.uk
