Oreos for breakfast

Oreos for breakfast – sadly I kid you not. This term my teenagers, in years 10 and 8, have both decided they don’t want to get up at 6:30am for breakfast anymore. I’m not quite sure what to do about this as I’m a firm believer in picking my battles, and do I really want to start each day with a shouting match? Should I try and drag all 5ft 9” of them both out of their beds?!! So I’ve decided to let this one slide. At the end of the day, they’re old enough now to make their own decisions and if they want to go to school with no breakfast then be my guest.

Wednesday saw me come home to an empty Oreo packet on the hall table and that gave me the idea of this very short blog post – it’s probably more worthy of an Instagram comment post but it tickled me!

Should I be forcing breakfast down them in the morning, make them eat it and suffer the row and the noise first thing in the morning? Who knows, but for now this is one battle I choose not to have.
