I had seen the occasional photograph on Pinterest over the years of little girls wearing their mummy’s wedding dress, their tiny feet in mummy’s shoes. I had not had the chance to shoot this kind of thing before, so I was especially excited when Kaylie contacted me to tell me that she was soon donating her wedding dress to a charity and wanted to capture her little girl in it before she said goodbye to her dress. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to capture these images!

I spent sometime researching this type of shoot but there was very little around, so, giving the shoot some thought, I had a basic plan and decided to keep to my usual, candid style and see how things panned out.

Kaylie’s little girl was brilliant! she was so much fun! I put a Disney play list on my Alexa, we helped her into the dress and with the help of some of my photography back drop clips, got the shoot underway. We had an absolute blast, and J was happy to follow all my instructions laughing the whole time We used a few props that I had and took a super cute photograph of her in her mummy’s wedding shoes too! 

These shoots are shot as mini shoots, in my Bexley home studio which is only 20 minutes train ride from London Bridge and just off junction 2 on the M25. I am definitely finding people are enquiring from further afield as these shoots are not commonplace. Your half hour shoot costs £100 and include 3 digital images. A gallery of 20-30 images will be delivered and there is the opportunity to purchase more should you wish. The age range for these shoots, is 3 years to around 11 years old, but please get in touch for a chat if your little one is a different age.
