Because I love Camden Town……

I love this place, its busy, noisy and always full of life and today was no different. We needed a viola for the small person who started learning it this year at school. Up until now we’ve been hiring one but it was time to take the plunge and when Camden Town came up in a google search I thought it would be a great place to take the boys for the afternoon.

The trip was easy, a short drive to North Greenwich and a tube into town, a quick change of lines and we were soon in the hustle and bustle of Camden. Preachers, street musicians and people enjoying the sunshine all around us. We got to watch a few narrow boats travel through the lock gates of the Grand Union Canal which the boys found fascinating.

We reached our destination, a fabulous little music shop called DOTS and owned by  a wonderfully helpful pair who’s shop is packed to the brim with instruments and sheet music. This took me rushing back to my teenage years when I had spent a brief spell at music college in London before I packed it all in to pursue a career in the city. J tried out his new instrument, chose some more sheetmusic and it was time to head back – precious cargo in hand.

My boys are over being photographed but I’m so glad I grabbed my camera for this short trip. These are some of the pictures I took in our 10 minute walk to and from the tube, got to seize the moment right? I love photographing children in urban settings like these, the back drops for pictures are amazing and this place did not disappoint! Hope you enjoy some highlights of our day……
