Greenwich family shoot October 2018
Back in October (yes, this is how far behind I am!) I met with this lovely family who live really close to Greenwich Park. I love shooting at Greenwich, it’s the most beautiful place and a perfect back drop for the outdoor part of a family shoot. I love the fact that, if the weather plays ball, you can get some great shots with the London skyline in the background, and of course, all the amazing architecture around the naval college and observatory, not to mention the spectacular natural beauty of the place.
We arranged to meet early on the day the clocks went back and I was soon parked up and saying hello to the most amazing little man and his lovely Mum and Dad. This little chap was absolutely fascinating to talk to; his knowledge of the world around him was incredible and don’t even get me started on his fantastic reading skills! I was blown away by the books he was reading, he clearly loves it and it showed through when he shared a book with Mum and Dad while I took some pictures.
I was able to capture some great, authentic moments with him and Mum and Dad, both together and separately, and some very sweet images of him kissing Mum’s tummy. At the time, his little baby brother was on his way but it’s taken me so long to write this post that actually, he is now here! Congratulations to you all!! After throwing the family on to Mum and Dad’s bed to get some lovely natural family shots, we had a brief spell in the garden, before heading out to Greenwich Park for the second half of the shoot. This little guy was about to start at his new pre-school so we took the opportunity to capture him on the doorstep with his school bag in hand! I have so many shots of my own boys just like this!
Greenwich Park was its usual hive of activity. We had a lovely, slow wander round, with me taking pictures along the way, stopping at the top of the hill for my favourite London skyline shot, before we all wandered back home, and I said goodbye.
My signature lifestyle/documentary sessions are extremely popular – especially at weekends! Sessions last around 2 hours and normally start in the family home before heading outside somewhere local to you. These shoots are great because children feel so at home in their own environment, allowing for lots and lots of lovely candid images, just like I’ve taken of my own children over the years. Thank you!
