Fathers Day mini sessions
With Fathers’ Day behind us, I wanted to share a few shots from some of my Fathers Day mini sessions which took place over a couple of very wet and rainy days at Lesnes Abbey in Abbeywood. I absolutely adore this place; the history mixed with the modern back drop of the urban areas of local Thamesmead make a really interesting location for a family lifestyle shoot.
Fathers’ Day shoots tend to be booked for 2 main reasons: firstly to get some lovely pictures of Dad with his children, or to have pictures of the children taken to give to Dad as a present. Both are wonderful ideas and lets face it, there is no better present for Mum or Dad (or grandparents) than pictures of their children!
I had been watching avidly the weather forecast in the lead up to these shoots – at one point I was looking at 5 different weather apps and speaking to my wonderful Dad who, up until very recently, was a pilot and has an exemplary record forecasting the weather and is often my “go to” weather advisor. The shoots went ahead and we (mostly) beat the rain. Even overcast weather doesn’t stop me – you may worry about this but it’s actually a photographers’ dream!!
Anyway, enough of my waffle, here are a few pictures I wanted to share… and a couple of my husband, our boys and their cousin. A very happy Fathers’ Day to all the wonderful Dads out there.
