Extended family newborn shoot – Shoreham Village Kent
I loved meeting this wonderful family. This shoot, originally a lifestyle newborn shoot, had been in my diary for months, but when the pandemic hit, all plans were put on hold.
I had quite a few newborn babies booked into my diary (it’s always advisable to pencil several dates in around your due date) and so I set about putting together a document to help my families capture their own early newborn images, as I wasn’t able to. This was really well received and I am so very pleased I was able to help in this way.
Once I had got over my initial worry of not being able to photograph again this year, I sat down, had a good think, and worked out a way I could photograph again in our “new normal” and started to make contact with all the families that I had to put on hold.
I was delighted I could book this family in. It was even more special because Nanny and Grandad had been “stranded” here due to the pandemic, having flown in from The States just before lockdown. To have grandparents involved in family shoots is exceptionally special and it was a privilege to be able to capture this family together before they were allowed to head back home after their extended stay in the UK.
I have had a blast photographing my families again, and if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I’ve shed more than a few tears over not being able to do so and not knowing how I would be able to interact with my families in our new, 2m- distanced normal, but it’s been working really well. From my point of view, taking that step back has brought out a lot of my early style, long before I started 3B&ME, the way I captured my own family back in those early days learning my craft, and I’m really pleased with the results. Of course, this bunch made that tremendously easy as they were so much fun and all I did was just document that, in some pretty beautiful surroundings too!
If you’re interested in a family photoshoot, please do have a look at my new covid compliant section on my website here
You will be able to see all the information on what I have put in place to ensure your and my family’s safety, along with how the session works, what the prices are and, most importantly, image examples!
Thanks so much for popping in to have a read and I look forward to photographing you one day soon!
