Autumn mini sessions! better late than never!

Well, Autumn is a bit of a distant memory isn’t it! And here I am, quite some months later, with a very overdue share! Autumn this year, saw me have one of the busiest periods of my life with 16 shoots in a 10 day period! It was busy, I met loads of lovely families and small people, the weather was so kind to us ( for all bar one shoot that had some light rain), and I had an absolute blast. Autumn mini sessions sold out really quickly this year, and I shot them over 2 weekends in 3 different locations. Hall Place in Bexley, Lesnes Abbey ruins in Abbeywood, and Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, in Sevenoaks. Processing all this wonderful images, took me quite some weeks, but everyone was over the moon with their pictures, most of my clients purchasing a full set of 30 digital images.

At Riverhill, we made use, not only of their beautiful gardens, but also a fabulous stable block, only used for storage now, which made a brilliant back drop to some of my full family groups. The trees were all in full colour with lots of leaves on the ground, and all the children, big and small, had a great time throwing leaves in the air.

My last sessions, at Hall Place, saw the exact conditions I hanker after. I was able to get some beautiful rim and back lit images, hazy sunshine blasting into the shot. When I see these conditions and I’m not working, you’ll find me dragging my smallest boy away from what ever he is doing, and out to take pictures. When he was younger, he would quite happily “chase the sunset” with me and I have lots of adorable images of him, normally in his pyjamas! chasing that sun around the local Bexley streets. These conditions do not come around often, and when I see them I get very very excited. I also had the chance to shoot several extended families too. Im always up for a challenge and happily set about photographing two sisters with their husbands,  5 children between them and the grandparents too! This session did over run, but I always try to allow a bit of extra time anyway, so its never a problem.

Here are some of my favourites, that I am able to share, from my 10 crazy days of Autumn mini shoots…….
